Thanks to government subsidies and incentives, electric and hybrid cars have been outselling fossil fuel cars in Norway;

India is looking at alternatives to cremation, which takes some 400-500kg of wood; and the Surfrider Foundation is working with volunteers to repurpose old Christmas trees to build sand dunes and protect coastlines.
