Victorian plastic bag ban, electric car charging in NSW, no new coal in Java, zero-emissions zone in Oxford and India rules on rape

Despite the litany of bad news flooding the media, there's an extraordinary amount of good work being done around the world to tackle the many challenges we're facing. In just

the last 11 days, the followng announcements have been made in the media: Victoria will ban single-use plastic bags, the NRMA will establish a network of fast-charging stations for electric and hybrid cars in NSW, Indonesia will not approve any new coal-fired power stations on the island of Java, the High Court has ruled against anti-protest laws in Tasmania, city and county councils in Oxford have submitted joint proposals to introduce a Zero Emissions Zone in Oxford City Centre, and India has ruled that sex with an underage wife is rape.
