A new pilot project in North Dakota is paying farmers to use marginal land to plant bee habitat, host beehives and take precautions against pesticide drift; Seattle will ban plastic straws and utensils by July

2018; and Western Australia will be joining South Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Terrirtory when it bans plastic bags next year. Queensland is also moving to implement a ban.
