Exiting the Anthropocene and entering the Symbiocene, a plan for a zero carbon cement industry in Australia, L.A. paying homeowners to build granny flats, and Germany turns the table on a Nazi march

Glenn Aalbrecht argues that it's time to start exiting the Anthropocene and entering a new era, the Symbiocene - the

era of living in a symbiotic relationship with the natural world. In other news, Beyond Zero Emissions has devised a plan for Australia to lead the world with a zero carbon cement industry, and one that could reverse job losses through the closure of coal plants; L.A. County will provide funding of up to $75,000 for homeowners to build granny flats for the homeless; and a small town in Germany has turned the table on an annual Nazi march, with the town turning it into a kind of sports event and raising 10 Euros for every meter the Nazis march. The money is given to an anti-racist organization and the community chants "thank you for marching for racial justice".
